Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Weekend Edition.

I was lucky enough to attend Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Weekend Edition on the 12th of April (thank you Sunglass Hut!), and what a day it was!

ImageHere we are arriving at Carriageworks… I’m on the left and my gorgeous friend and fellow blogger Steph is on the right.

ImageFirst things first, my outfit!

What I wore: a black mesh stripe tee from Glassons, Bardot leatherette skirt, Kookai felt hat, Mac lipstick (‘Rebel’), Krystle Knight & Baby Anything jewels, and my trusty holographic clutch from Hello Parry.

ImageHere I am enjoying a complementary beverage in the Mercedes Benz Star Lounge… breakfast of champions!

ImageCarriageworks is an impressive venue and I can see why it was the obvious choice for fashion week in Sydney. During the show, we enjoyed a fabulous front row experience as well as a little gift bag. It was perfect for snapping pictures of the catwalk. Exhibit A: Talulah…

ImageNow let me give you a run through of a few key trends for the coming Spring/Summer season…

ImageWHITE: Suboo (1), Alice McCall (2) & Cameo The Label (3)

ImageWHITE: Alice McCall (1), Cameo The Label (2) & Ginger & Smart (3)

ImageTHE LBD: Alex Perry (1 + 2), Carla Zampatti (3)

ImageRED: ae’lkemi (1), Jayson Brunsdon (1 + 2)

ImageSEQUINS: macgraw (1), Aje (2), Romance Was Born (3)

ImageBRIGHTS: Duvenage (1), By Johnny (2), Romance Was Born (3)

One particular show stopper for me was Betty Tran. My goodness, her dresses are incredible. This dress was probably the most dazzling piece to walk down the runway…

ImageAbsolutely amazing.

This bestselling baby is BACK!

Do you recall seeing this baby last year? Autumn/Winter ’12 maybe?

If you’re anything like me, you absolutely loved it and need it in your wardrobe… like… yesterday.

Luckily for me, I went to such a crazy effort last year to get one (a friend actually bought it for me from Sportsgirl in QLD and posted it to me! < That’s dedication!), and it is currently hanging safely in my closet.

Luckily for YOU, Sportsgirl have brought the must-have Tameika Fur Parker back! It sold out in about five minutes last year, so make sure you jump on it! Sportsgirl offer layby and now also do telephone orders, so you really have no excuse to miss out this time ’round.

This parker is a gorgeous khaki green (slightly darker this year than last year I think), with detachable fur trim on the hood and the collar. It has a draw string waist which gives the jacket shape. It’s extremely cozy and is the ultimate Winter essential. While the price is nothing to sneeze at, it’s totally worth it. It delivers in every single way.

Buy Sportsgirl’s Tameika Fur Parker ($169.95) HERE.

My shopping adventure to Topshop Sydney!

Today I braved the crowds to check out the new Topshop store, located in the Gowings building on the corner of George Street and Market Street.

We queued (my loyal shopping buddy, otherwise known as my mum, and I) for around 10 minutes, and were given little Topshop bags in the queue with a few little brochures and a bottle of water, which was much appreciated.

There are four levels of shopping heaven – one for men’s, one for ladies clothing, one for accessories and more clothes, and another for shoes… And, wait for it… More clothes!

The shop was busy… But wasn’t unbearable – which was a pleasant surprise. We queued for about 15mins for the change rooms. The staff were helpful, and overall it was a pleasant shopping experience.

There was a DJ, and a Topshop photo booth.

The stuff on sale I thought was pretty good. Loads of sequins, denim shorts, studs, spikes, cute printed tops… And more. The prices were reasonable… Cheaper than Sportsgirl, more expensive than Glassons.

They were also giving away iPad cases for purchases over $100, nail polish for anyone who made a purchase and had checked in at Topshop on Facebook, and also give a 10% student discount when you show your student card.

I bought a super cute tie dye tee with a skull on it. It set me back just under $40 with my student discount.

Are you excited to check out Topshop?

Hope you love the photos,
