How to toughen girly florals.

Florals are inevitable; they simply are the perfect Spring/Summer print. Pretty floral dresses, and funky floral pants, are all the rage right now. Glasson, Dotti… basically everywhere, are pumping out the floral prints. I even invested in my own floral print pants… which I’ll share with you later. 🙂

Perhaps you’re feeling like florals just aren’t your style. Maybe you’re looking for a way to wear them without looking too girly? Well, if so, here are some tips on how to toughen your look. I think tougher pieces provide an amazing contrast for the feminine florals… and result in an all up interesting and stylish outfit. Here’s how…

BOOTS

Instantly add a more masculine feel with a good pair of boots. Whether it be DOCS, or other cute boots you acquired during Winter, you are pretty much guaranteed to counter the super-girly floral print.

LEATHER JACKET

Leather jackets are a fab wardrobe staple. Not only do they keep you warm, and look good with just about anything… they are also the perfect way to add a little ‘tough’ to any outfit.

CHUNKY ACCESSORIES

Add some studs to your look, or chunkier accessories. Try dark silver or gunmetal for a really tough look.

You could also wear a grungy scarf… maybe something with skulls. Amazing!
